Shawn is from Wisconsin. He lost is lower left leg due to trauma in 2002. Through the support of others and a willingness to challenge himself, he continues to create new experiences to share with others. Shawn first got involved with ROMP by volunteering for a clinical program in Guatemala. While in Guatemala, he decided to support ROMP by climbing in Antarctica!
“Mobility means being able to spend time with my family and friends. My kids are involved in scouting; I have been able to participate in all of the activities they enjoy. As a family, we have visited several national parks together. We have been able to experience life simple joys such as holding hands when we walk.”
