ING Georgia Marathon 2009 Team
ROMP invites runners/walkers from all strides of life to join it’s team for the first ever ROMP marathon event on March 29, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. ROMP just recently became a Charity Affiliate through the event and would like to create a team of marathon runners. We hope to use this forum to raise both funds and awareness for ROMP’s mission.
The marathon course begins at Downtown Atlanta and takes runners through many historic Atlanta neighborhoods. Marathon, half-marathon and wheelchair half-marathon options available. ROMP encourages runners to help recruit other interested participants, whether they be family, friends, or co-workers, ROMP is interested in helping you recruit and fundraise to make this event successful.
We look forward to meeting you all and organizing a marathon team that will build lasting relationships between runners and help with a great cause! ROMP considers this the first of many more marathon teams to come in the following years and that with your participation in this event you will always be a part of the ROMP community.
ROMP is asking runners to raise a minimum goal of $500 for ROMP’s cause.
Roughly every $300 helps an amputee receive a high tech prosthesis from our clinics in Guatemala and Ecuador, so ROMP encourages all participants to raise beyond the minimum goal to empower even more people through mobility.
Each runner who participates in this event with ROMP will be fitted with a commemorative ROMP team running jersey. Getting started is only a few clicks away. Below is our ROMP marathon tool kit, which offers all the information you need for this event, including how to start raising money for ROMP.
Registration
Registration for this marathon is simple and easy. Running with a Charity Affiliate like ROMP also lowers the cost of the registration fee for the race.
